the dreaded test

my class 1 training and test are looming in the next 3 to 4 months. my thoughts predictably turned to the dreaded driving test. but i dont know what im worrying about. ive done the cat c and d and looking back, the tests really weren’t what I’d built them up to be in my mind. the examiners were not evil demons looking for reasons to fail you, on the contrary they were decent blokes who just wanted to see a smooth, safe drive (it will be much easier in an auto. i dont really care if pete gives me a wag n drag or the artic) the thing that catches most on the test is nerves, that goes for me too, but as soon as i got that under control and started to enjoy the drive, my driving in general picked up and i passed. the trick is controlling the nerves because they make people do very out of character things.

What like? :open_mouth: - Posting a random thread 3-4 months prior to the event?

Only kidding pal, and yes I agree! :grimacing:

But I will wish you luck closer to the time… (Otherwise it’ll have worn off by then!)

cheers evil. just a random brainfart brought on by too much Sun and beer (threw a sickie today, first one so it’s ok) the conversation at the bbq was about driving test so it caused a random posts on here :stuck_out_tongue:

Really Ash, I thought you couldn’t stop banging on about it! :open_mouth:

Kidding pal, best of luck! :grimacing:

Then, as I will still only be class C, you can talk down to me! (Out of the window!)

ye si can indeed but as I have just learnt you have your adr qualification which I am extremely jealous of! but not going to get mine for a couple of years though I believe as im under 25 and have no experience as of yet and will be very difficult to gain employment on adr work. There is not much adr work around Basingstoke either I might have to commute :frowning:

Having your ADR will improve your chances of work. I did some agency work a while ago and they couldn’t get enough ADR workers, so the money was brilliant. Even on class 2. I did some class 2 work for Air Liquide and Energas and I was getting £11 P/H for day work. Easy work and easy money.

REALLY? :grimacing:

Thanks for that info Endgame!

I think that makes it 1-0 to me Ash mate! :stuck_out_tongue:

And for others of what ADR entails (Shameless plug!) Should I do ADR as 28 hours of CPC - NEW AND WANNABE DRIVERS (INTERACTIVE) - Trucknet UK

That’s interesting endgame but like I said im gonna give it a couple of years, gain some valuable experience and then move on to ADR. Evil no way im clearly one up ive seen your sat nav :stuck_out_tongue:
