for anyone who may have worked for P.Hinchcliffe of Carlisle, Mark passed away earlier this week.
here’s some photo’s of Ian Armstrong’s fleet the first few were taken at his premises just outside Carlisle the last few were taken at his Penrith site, these were taken over twenty years ago, where is he based these days?. regards prattman.

Ian Armstrong keeps his wagons in a yard off Stalker Road, Penrith Industrial Estate now
He still does live in the Dalston area but all the trucks are at Penrith
Think they fleet is more or less 100% Volvo now and they definitely don’t have any Scania’s or MAN’s now

Would the yard at Penrith be Burnholme transports old depot? i delivered fuel to Burnholme and Armstongs at this yard,also to Armstrongs just north of Carlisle,thats going back a long time

This Scania 93m 6 wheeled tipper was parked in Borderway Mart car park last week.
It appeared to be in good condition for its age.
