The British Class System

It’s not the class system I hate. It’s “The Establishment” that gets my back up. From school-teachers to lawyers to doctors; gentleman farmers, police, estate agents and all politicians. People like the Freemasons who break the spirit of anybody who wants to get ahead; starting at school where bright kids from the common people are ridiculed and driven down.

First against the wall; come the revolution!

Come off it, Chris, we’ve had most of the country’s haulage fleet painted red once before and it didn’t work. Just ask Bewick who paid for it all. :unamused:
Having said that, come the revolution, brother, & I’ll be right behind you!

Hey! ROF,one thing that no-body could ever accuse me of being is a snobbish ■■■■ :open_mouth: One of the reasons we always got on with many of our customers is I spoke the same lingo to all levels, from the FLT drivers up to the Directors, basically the FLT drivers accepted that me and my manager had obviously “done it” and the Bosses accepted that we knew how “to do it” so they entrusted us with their traffic.I hate/hated the ■■■■■■■ “Establishment” along with the rest of “the salt of the earth” (us lower classes !) “You can take the Driver out of the cab”,but he will always be a Driver at heart!! Cheers Bewick.

Hi.
Some times you have to remind people who have ideas above their station, that their A**e points towards the floor, the same as everybody elses.

Agreed, but some are more equal than others.

shirtbox2003:
we are all equal. :open_mouth:

next time i pass through middleton on my wanderings i will remember to take my cap off and look suitably humble . i’d tug my forelock , but i havn’t got one any more . cheers , dave

Since I joined the ranks of the “Done it all so now being kept by the presently employed” sector, I don’t go through Middleton any more. But I still remember to tug what remains of my forelock every time I see a crane-equipped artic.
