Mt favourite show is The classic commercial motor show at Gaydon in June each year. A cracking venue and lorries from my era. I enjoyed The Retro Show last weekend, but The Classic Show is my choice.
Cheers Dave.

This is not easy to answer, as we are not comparing like with like. For me, last week’s Middle-East seminar ■■■ Retro Show at Gaydon was the best I’ve ever been to, but that’s only because it just so happens that the Middle-East run and old ERFs are what float my boat, so it was a double-whammy! If you only want lots of shiny chrome and long bonnets; or you want pristine state-of-the art modern trucks then you wouldn’t have gone to Gaydon in the first place!

I attended an really excellent Gloucestershire truck show near Cirencester recently and that too would have appealed to those who ■■■■ after older vehicles and it also had a magnificent steam component. I once went to a Truckfest at Peterboro’ and that seemed to me to appeal to a much broader section of enthusiasts. Likewise, I’ve been to the truckshows at Beltring and at Detling, both in Kent, which have a strong military vehicle input.

Let’s face it, it also depends on how you feel on the day, how many friends and acquaintances you meet, and what the weather’s like. In the end, you want a good day out and if you get one you’re happy! Robert
