Most, if not all trainers on this board absolutely speak about the benefits of meeting the company you are thinking about training with. An assessment drive does :-
- Proves the company exists and not a broker/someone who says they do training but only trains sales staff
- Helps to ensure you receive the training matched to your current ability
- Gives an opportunity to actually get behind the wheel of something bigger than a car
- Lets you meet the man who will be training you after parting with, normally over £1000
- Makes you comfortable with a company you will only be a customer for once in your life.
My main point is that in the last 3 weeks we have successfully passed 12 people with only 1 truck. Of them 8 had assessment drives. Most trainers get it right or very close. Without an assessment you are shooting in the dark. Get your provisional before contacting any provider.
