Retired Old ■■■■:
Give it a couple of weeks and I intend to go totally OTT with my 14-inch fibre optic tree in the front window!
14" fibre optic tree■■? one that needs plugging in■■? Hell man, do you know how much electricity costs?? AND there’s an energy shortage.
Ang. has the right idea, 24th is soon enough.
Mrs GOM likes to do her thing with decorations, I’m not too impressed but… I usually have a “jolly boys away day” with some of the mates from the old days while she decorates the one room. Actually is a pub crawl p*ss up, no driving, we meet somewhere different every year (train travel) I’m happy, she’s happy…compromise.
Just tried shopping for nick-nacks. Spent an hour in the local “Garden Centre” trying to get to what I want past the brain-dead. The gun laws in this country are archeaic. I would rather suffer a bit of porridge than that. OH! and the exhaust went on the car - and while I was underneath, I noticed the back tyres are low.
Must admit, the HA BUMHUG cheered me up though. Merry Trucking Christmas (6 weeks early). Jim.
P.S. Sorry All - Not in the slightest bit cheerful.
cracked it ! mrs doing the xmas cards today , a huge waste of time and money in my opinion . when i refused to lend a hand she called me a miserable old sod . we all know that women are never wrong so i must be a fully fledged bah humbug member . dave
Now come on Dave, own up, Trace must have helped you up onto that roof !! There is no way you could have drove the Merc up there ! Anyhow, it looks like a roof in Leatherhead to me ! All the best to you both for Christmas and wishing you both a very Happy and enjoyable New Year, Cheers Dennis.
Well I enjoy Xmas along with the family & friends, I have had a busy afternoon making 2 Xmas cakes, That’s 5 in Total, Mind you I do them under the close supervision of my good lady who isn’t to good healthwise at present, But she certainly keeps me right, Im just having a few Malts & My good lady is having a small cream sherry before we turn in, The kitchen smells great with the two cakes cooling off, I enjoy a good fruit cake anytime, Merry Xmas to All, Regards Larry.
No shortage of fruit cakes on this forum Larry, surely you don’t need to be making any more? I haven’t even written my cards yet, let alone done any shopping, and I am not sure if I will bake a cake this year as there is only the two of us and neither of us are that keen on it anyway! I might do a few mince pies though in a week or two. Tomorrow I will be shopping and then making Leek and Tater soup and a Shepherds Pie so I doubt that any baking will be done this week somehow as I will need a day or two’s rest!

new applicant applying…im a miserable grumpy git for the other 355 days in the year also…do I still get to join??
Sorry, no. To be a serious grumpy old git you need commitment, unwavering commitment and that means the full 365 days per year and from your post it seems you’re not quite ready yet to join our exalted ranks…so buck up a bit and put some effort into it…
