As usual from FB it’s a load of cringewortht bolleaux.
I choose to do 65 hours, if I was workshy and had issues with that I’d change jobs.
Good, family give me a bloody headache.
I eat 3 good meals a day.
Starting at 4 in the morning is brilliant, less halfwit around.
I get a solid 7-8 hours every night.
Then again I’m well above average.

No it isn’t you dimwit. Anyone getting 5 hours sleep and not eating (unless by personal choice) is not any sort of representation of a real tramper.
I do 65 hours because when I go away I’m at work all week, I go to work to work. Might as well make money and do the hours than be doing nothing if I’m away from home.
Then again I’m not an idle disease like you, dobber breath.

Any person who sleeps over night in a truck for what they get is not worth it at twice the price that’s how little they get
As for doing 65 hours and bragging i was been nice with my first description i would say it’s a cowboy who would only say that and there are plenty of cowboy drivers out there
It’s just that some people need to get a life
I found I slept better when I was in the truck. Starting early doesn’t bother me. I’m only 25. Cooking on the road doesn’t have to ■■■■. Its all about what you make it, spend your days chasing your arse then sure it ■■■■■.
Could someone tell the average trucker where the caps lock button is please? I don’t compare myself to others because there is no point, but I don’t fancy being compared to by someone who can’t spell properly or find the caps lock key.
No one forced us at gunpoint or held our children hostage to do this job, we do it all of our own free will.
Like any job there is a learning period, a sort of apprenticeship time during which time some of us will get taken advantage of, be taken the ■■■■ out of, make a series of costly ■■■■ ups and after a possible baptism of fire of a first few months or even years if we are still doing the job we will gradually find our feet, find out what part of the industry suits us and gradually move into that part and improve our lot.
No one is skilled lorry driver the day they pass their test, some will be good in short order, some will never be lorry drivers as long as they have a hole in their arse,
Our industry can vary from barely skilled manual to highly skilled manual, very often the proof of which is lying in the trail of destruction we leave behind us or not, we start to find out where we are between the two extremes when we either find ourselves wanted as drivers or having to flit from one trail of wreckage to another hoping to hell the next prospective employer doesn’t get in touch with the previous before we have a chance to wreak carnage there too and move on again.
Its an odd industry though, because terms and conditions don’t always reflect as it should on the effort skills and time put into the job by the driver, we know of ■■■■ poorly paid jobs where good drivers slog away for dreadful pay, and we know of superb jobs where utterly useless imbeciles take the ■■■■ out of the pay and the sick pay and are about as useful as a chocolate teapot when they actually do turn up for work doing the bare minimum whilst making a drama of every second.
There are as always multiple variations between the extremes above.
The point of all that ■■■■■■■■ is that we are at the end of the day the working class, unless we are very lucky ordinary working class people do not land £40k gross jobs for a 37 hour week going home at 1630 every day and 14.30 on Fridays, its isn’t going to be the lot of the average working class person.
Those whom we might be envious of who go home every day at 1630 after an 8 hour shift will be earning on average £16k to £25k, and thats it, no night out pay on top.
We as lorry drivers can earn considerably more, but like every other working class person out there we have to put the effort in to double those figures, so we either do the work of two people or we do the hours of two people or both if we want the highest earnings.
Its no good moaning about the hours on faceache, if you don’t want the hours don’t do the bloody hours but be prepared to get paid only for the normal non premium hours a 830 to 1630 job pays, if we want to up our earnings for whatever reason then we’d better bloody shut up moaning, get some sleep and go do what we have to, as self respecting working (not to be compared to the shirking) class bods that we are.

I have been saying this till I’m blue in the face we are working two weeks for the price of one but when you put it in writing they all get a swelled head like thats not me
