I was berating Mrs TT for this very thing only yesterday.
I always leave a gap as it allows you to pass a stricken vehicle in front.
Also if an emergency vehicle needs to get through there’s a chance of you moving.
As for the IOM TT I can’t understand how standing in one place allows fr better viewing than a hundred different camera angles.
A better experience certainly but not better viewing. How many riders would let you sit on the front mudguard through Douglas?

Hiya…not knocking you Martinviking, the ITV can’t cover the tt really…YOU NEED TO BE THEIR.
as you well know. bike bike bike everywhere, i must admit i hav’nt been for a few years.
its to expensive to take the motorhome and her indoors dos’nt do tents, she is more of a
petrol head as me so i can’t go on my own. her in doors worked for Heron Suzuki so did the
TT late 70’s early 80’s and all the races. she was the paddock marshall at donnington in the 80’s.
John
John, if she worked for Heron Suzuki in the 70’s/80’s - they were the glory years…she must have been acquainted with some superstars then■■? Sheene/Stavros Parrish/Pat Hennan/Roger Marshall/Croz/Mamola? Great stuff!!! And paddock marshal at Donington Park - what a job!!! Lucky Mrs. 3300John I say!!!
I went to the Isle of Man in the early 70s for the cycle racing ,our gig was one week after the T.T.When the motor cycle racers were behind schedule due to weather conditions we could watch them coming down the Mountain,I still remember the scream of the engines .

Totally agree John, I went 3 times in the late 70s/early 80s, twice camping & once in an apartment, hav’nt been lucky enough since & as you point out-it’s Blooming Expensive.
You sound like the same sort of age as me/51 & I don’t do tents any more but finding accommodation is quite hard as most people book up for the next year whilst they are there the previous year.
Might try to get involved with the marshalling when I retire. One of the drivers where I work Marshalls every year & takes his Fazer over in a transit with 3 other bikes, costs around £400 return for the van & 4 people I believe, which is a lot less than £300 return for one bike & rider.
For now I’m going to have to watch it on ITV & look forward to seeing John McGuiness win a few & Conor ■■■■■■■ win one for the Island.

Ooooops sorry, we’ve hijacked the original post.
Why don’t you try…
Ok, not the same galaxy of stars but you see the next generation and the Classics, the racing’s just as good on the same course and there’s a more relaxed atmosphere (and I suspect cheaper). I’ve been to both. And the Manx International!
