truck i’m in at the moment,a merc 1843, doesn’t have a fuel card as it’s a hire motor,so i just use 1 from 1 of the other lads trucks when i need to diesel up
i got done late on thursday & shot off home, came in on friday & was off to 2 drops, shrewsbury, wolverhamton & a collection in smethick,b/ham,i’d looked at the fuel guage & it was on a mark less than half a tank but more than 1/4 if than makes sense, lol
anyway, sets off no problems all day.stopped at the truck stop on the A38 on way home, sets off & after a few miles the guage goes into the red & i get a warning on the dash about needing fuel, not a problem i thought, should be enough to get back as it’s only just below the 1/4 mark.
heading north on M1,still bloody windy, checks guage as i passed woodhall & it’s gone very low,so i think i’ll stop at wooley edge & put some in to get back to yard & it’ll be fine,so i did,i put £40 in.
gets back to yard, drops trailer & am also needing ad blue as well now, goes & fills that up,then goes to the garage to diesel up using 1 of the lads fuel cards,i ended up putting 392 litres in what i assume is a 400 litre tank!! good job i did stop at wooley edge, that would have been embarassing running out of diesel!!!

400 litre tank will take around 450 litres if you brim it.
this 1 wouldn’t have,it was not far off the neck & would have struggled to get another 5/10 litres in it.
