That holiday feeling

Normally I’d be in Sunday night mode about this time.

Me and the missus have a week off. In deepest Cornwall in a converted barn on a working dairy farm. It’s smashing.

48 weeks a year every Sunday night normally means turning in at 9.00pm and getting up about 3.15am.

It’s nice to be able to relax, unwind and have a few drinks on a Sunday night whilst knowing there’s no alarm clock to set for morning!

The missus is int kitchen preparing a full (beef) roast wi all the trimmings.

No need to get up until about half seven tomoz. Then a leisurely train journey down to St Ives for a mooch about.

I appreciate that we all have different expectations regarding time off from work but blimey, this time round my week off is VERY welcome.

What do you lot do to relax when away from the road?

collapse for the 1st part…I buy and sell compervans,so sometimes head out in a campervan ,chillout with a chinkies, cpl beers, watch the seagulls, molest my misses, then find a café in the morning that does a good breakfast.,and, perish the thought, look in here from time to time. :smiley:

Thank god for grammar… Take the comma away after seagulls!

I’m sorry, I’ll get my coat!

Me personally, could be anything from a good camping trip with friends or if I’ve made enough… Book a trip to Florida for some sun and roller coasters.

Jeff.

Only 16 more sleeps until we are off to Las Vegas. I’m looking forward to spending time at margaritaville, you can buy them by the yard in there, she’s looking forward to seeing Rod Stewart at Caesars Palace. Saying I’m getting excited just doesn’t cover it.

Usually something involving this old heap;

although lately this slightly younger heap has been pressed into service.

Not because there’s anything wrong with the old 'un, but the Glide is a bit quicker on distance runs and carries a bit more luggage.

I hope the farmer does not ask you to milk his cows as his cow man has called in sick. But you could get your hands on some Friesian’s ■■■■.
Then ploughing all day with calving cows all night. The roast beef dinner sounds nice.Look out Jethro or Geoff Rowe.
