That driver really is a banker

HGV Driving school say they are now getting thousands of inquiries per week. Propriertor quoted as saying ‘you used to pigeonhole the type of person who would be a lorry driver. Now you can’t do that’. (Thanks, you pleb).
Apparently women applicants have increased, and they have had bankers on the phone, wanting to train up. At least they could handle the hours.
Conversations in the RDC waiting room could perhaps get a bit more interesting in future.

All lured in by the ridiculous and blatant lies of a 78k salary.
Oh boy there are going to be some very unhappy bunny’s shortly.

I doubt that. That’s like saying people would queue up at the Coffee Machine to get Winseer’s latest pearls of Ex-City wisdom…
I worked in the City 1986-early 87, got sacked after a row with the chief trader over everyone’s positions pointing in the same direction in July, when the FTSE got over 2400 for the first time, if memory serves… This was Merril Lynch that were then based in Finsbury Square, near Moorgate.

Yep, I know how to trade Dervivatives - those “Investments of Mass Destruction” as none other than Warren Buffet calls them… :smiling_imp:
Trading Derivatives - carries about the same risk as becoming a bookmaker… You’d think it was an easy thing to make money on, but you need a LOT of collateral to cover you for “Black Swan” events… NOT recommended for the casual investor!

I fear you may be right. Could be a while before the aspirations to improve the job become reality.

Investment advice would be bit more interesting than talk about lightbars and chrome wheels.

The banker can tell folk how he got his bit polished by high class escorts and had cocaine parties on yachts.

The driver can talk about how he was so hard that he told tesco to sod off they ain’t getting their load of soup, how he polished the bosses truck on his day off and drove all through the middle east but now chooses to do local drops as all the kids he fatherd abroad want cash

Could we please have you and Connor as team captains of “A Question of Fnance”. It would seriously be an interesting read. You would need to see his recent post to get my thread.
