Thanks to the driver for getting me off from the ditch!

Hi
Just a quick one, I’m not sure If I’m allowed to post this but I feel that I have to write this quick story here to say thanks and maybe he will read that aswell and remember this situation.
Last week I was in the middle of nowhere somewhere near Milton Keynes, Kingsbridge and decided to have a quick break on the werge, stupid decision. My front wheel ended up in the deep ditch and I was stuck for life. I was just about to call my depot for a help when I spotted that red lorry stopping right next to me. I’m quite new driver so wasn’t sure what to do but my ,friend’’ jumped behind the wheel and after few minutes of proper rocking on reverse gear, lots of tarmac and grass in the air and my Scannia was alive again.
I think I could even face discplinary for this but for sure he helped me a lot and saved lots of further stress.
I think he is working for a C.J Haynes & Son Ltd but I’m not sure, doesn’t matter as long we are helping each other
Thanks again to you, If you read this I’m really appriecieated and I do believe that drivers on the roads are BIG FAMILY.
Cheers

Nice one, bet that was a relief!

Yes,you can feel the love oozing by the way everyone speaks to each other on here

Oooh, I feel all warm and fuzzy now snowman.

Good on the driver for helping out… must have been an old geezer.

Glad you got it out ok.
Big lesson learned-Never, Never, Never Park on a Verge !

When they opened the Leighton Buzzard bypass (about 20 years ago) there were signs saying about the soft verges, but you still got wagons pulling on to it when they broke down or had a puncture, I could never understand why ?
Stay in lane 1, hazards on, the traffic will have to go around you, then the tyre fitter can repair the tyre & you are on your way (within 3 hours, lol) not waiting for a wrecker with a £500 bill to ‘Pull you off’ (ooh Matron) after you’ve sunk up to your axles.

Very strange normally this would have been brought to our attention by a picture of a sunken truck and a title of agency driver does it again

I’d put my money on a foreigner… Always willing to lend a hand in my experience, unlike the natives who’d rather film / photograph the incident and post it on the internet
