Thanks from a biker

Dont know if this is the right place to post this but I posted the following on the Adventure bikeriders forum it happened at about midday today, dont know the number of the truck or make but it was big and black! and I`d like to say THANKS

So I fill up with petrol on my way into Kings Lynn and then pull up at traffic lights on the Hardwick roundabout and think to myself theres a strong smell of petrol and then the lorry behind me purps his horn so I look round and hes pointing at the back of the bike and his passenger says "petrol leak watch out" so I pull onto the footpath get off the bike and see petrol pouring down the right side of the bike First thought was a burst fuel pipe and then the penny drops, I didnt secure the filler cap properly only problem with an underseat fuel tank I suppose.

Although he will probably never read this I own the lorry driver a thankyou the consequences of tipping it into a roundabout with the right side of the tyre covered with petrol don`t bear thinking about :open_mouth:

You’re welcome Nigel.

Nah, wasn’t me, but I’d like to think that despite the bad press we receive most truck drivers would be especially vigilant with regards to what we perceive as vulnerable road users bikers/ cyclists etc. Plus a large percentage of us are bikers too.

Still, it’s nice of you to bother to take the time to post your thanks. Happy riding Nigel.

Thanks maoster had me going for a sec I thought it was you! I get the impression that a lot of drivers ride bikes by the way they treat us on the road. There is a discussion on ABR about lunatic car drivers but there are nutters in every type of vehicle but in general truckers are the good guys, and you get a good mug of tea at truck stops!

Even if the trucker who helped doesnt read this its a thanks to all truck drivers.
