TGX's loosing water

SteveR:
That’s assuming there’s any antifreeze left in the system, what with having to put 10-15 litres in per day.

Which then gives MAN the excuse to reject any subsequent warranty claim relating to the cooling system on the grounds that the concentration of the coolant had been incorrect. (U)LSD etc all over again.

On our 08 D20 I took the stainless pipe that runs from the EGR cooler to the inlet manifold, started the motor and the drips of water were spitting out. It took longer to tip the cab. I did it at the end of the day when there was some pressure in the coolant.

Pursy

If it’s the twin turbo D20 they also run high pressure intercoolers ( in front of the sump ) which leak internally, other wise yes it’s EGR you can take the chromed angled pipe from the end of the EGR rail itself and inspect for water.

This must be a first for this site to have a manufacturer hold their hands up to a problem , very well done MAN , others should note !!! .
