That’s right, that’s before federal and local taxes, 401K and health payments are taken out. Actual take home pay will be a tad smaller.

Just like the rest of the world, if you are in an honest business, there will be plenty of deductions, similar to NI, income tax, pension contributions, and so on. The exception would be tax heavens like the British Virgin Islands, Isle of Man, Monaco, Luxemburg, Guernsey, Jersey, Singapore, which are widely used by the best and most corrupt of this planet to laundry dirty money in order to receive it back, sparkling clean, funneled through the city of London. I thought HM had not only a HGV licence, albeit no blue card - and liked to drive herself about at all times, especially on Balmoral estate…
It isn’t good though that the job offer has a starting salary which could only be for upto 15 hours per week work… Hardly going to be getting a mortgage on THAT eh?
Any foreign venue for truck jobs - is going to have to offer a full relocation package on top of headline-grabbing rates…
OR - who would take the gamble?
…For a few shifts at some agency, and then the empty promise of "ongoing work, ongoingly, maybe we can get you an any-five-from-seven if you’re lickcock enough in a year’s time…" (I dunno how to say that in Romansh…)
Wot’s anything “Romanian” got to do with “Texas”?
… Who do you think this “Texas Company” is pitching at, over here in blighty? - Give you a clue: It ain’t the home-grown Brits!
