Not bad over 5 years !!!
Yes haha!
Seeing how the trend for 6x2 tractor units with small tyred midlift axles seems to be on the increase, my mind has been
drawn back to an article featured in TRUCK magazine sometime in 1985. The truck concerned was a Texaco Leyland
Roadtrain, which had been converted to 6x2 , the extra axle being fitted with wheels & tyres from the Roadrunner.
Does anyone remember the trucks, or even better have the original article?
I remember the article, the midlift on the unit and axle’s 1 & 3 on the trailer were only on the ground when it was loaded, as soon as it was empty the load sensing valves triggered the lift axles to lift. Haven’t got a copy of the mag though so can’t help more than that
PM Dreva, he has loads of old TRUCK mags and has scanned a few things for me on here, if you ask nicely he may come up with the goods
Yes I remember them 7 some where have photos @ lorry driver of the year .
Cheers guys

We had a couple of trailers like that when I was on for a German company. As soon as you put some weight on, the rear axle sat on the floor. I also pulled a couple of tank trailers that you could lift both front axles of the trailer, it really ■■■■■■ them off at the Humber bridge Toll.
Nice photo of simos truck wheel nut.
