Test point question

I’m looking at sorting out an “emergency” tyre pumper-upper/airline kit to run from the air supply and am wondering what size thread the test point connector is. Are they standardly generic on all lorries?

FWIW, I drive a3-axle rigid Axor and the test point is by the air tanks under the battery box, behind the n/s corner of the sleeper. Don’t know if that’s the standard position for Axors, the body builders may have moved things when they fitted the front-mounted Hiab?

Thankly dankly.

We have connectors that connect to the red airline on the truck and length of hose long enough to the rear of the trailer.
It’s not a bodge job it’s a proper piece of kit i can find out for you where we get ours from if you want!

Except he drives a rigid which doesn’t have suzie lines hence using the test point.

he’s got a rigid though!

just take it down to your local pirtek or equivalent, do it outside, chances are they’ll have what you need

Think he will struggle to find the red air line

Edit:Great minds think alike

OP we have such devices on our forest fire vehicles. Next time I am at the station I could take a look and see what make they are.

Yep just read it again :unamused: Me bad lol
Sorry!!!

Test point should be a standard union. Machine Mart do 50ft lengths of coily airline and adapters to make your own up. £20 should see you sorted.

Merc used to supply an airline with the standard tool kit. Don’t know if they still do, but maybe worth having a chat to your fitters or have a rake round in the workshop.
