Tesco's driver on a mission?

I was travelling west bound on the A50 between j2 and j3 when I caught up with a Tesco artic,
I had got along side his trailer when he pulled away quiet quick.

I was pretty annoyed but almost expect this as I drive an 8 wheeled tipper and am the scum of all lorry drivers, I flashed my lights as I dropped back in behind him only for him to slow down to about 48mph again so I again went for the overtake and again was forced to drop back in with my hand firmly on my horn as he sped up again.

I then took my break 13 mins early so I could take a valium (ham sarnies) as the gimp had really peed me off

My foden alpha does 55mph and most of the Tesco lorries I see tend to be doing about 52mph.

It was a 57 plate merc so I don’t think throttle stomping would of helped him pee me off.

Are tesco’s trucks limited to 52mph? :imp:

im not so sure it not a fault of some kind, ive had it a few times lately where the truck your overtaking kinda of surges, slows, surges etc etc.
last was a daf cf,

Try driving a coach. When they see you coming up at 62mph.Pull in front of you as late as possible and sit there at 52 to 56mph for ten miles .When you finally get along side they give a look that makes you realise on their birth certificate the space for father is blank.

id just chill out mate, just do your stuff and ignore cockrels like him.

chilllllllllllllllllll, a lot worse out there

West Wellow A36.
I had the same problem with a Tesco Driver about 02:30 in the morning mind you this was about 7 years ago. A long straight a-waits as you come out of the last left hand bend before you head into West Wellow on the A36 South. He was doing about 35mph so yep off I went thought I aint got time for this s… by the time I’d got past him I was hitting 50+ because he’d accelerated against me & I was fast running out of road. He was heading for the Tesco Southampton RDC. Well done Tesco’s for employing such arse holes.

I think it would be a good idea to bring out a new law against vehicles being overtaken accelerating against the overtaking vehicle (Video Evidence Accepted) that would put a stop to such practices. This practice is not only dangerous it’s bloody annoying and unnecessary it’s about time some LGV Drivers got a life or got another job because you aint wanted in this profession boy’s!

I posted an example of this sort of behaviour a few weeks ago when I had the same thing happen with a Saint’s truck on the M40 at 04.00 in the morning.
He was obviously asleep when I first passed him just as we were approaching the M40 s/b off the M42.
As I passed him,he woke up and floored it and crept up my inside till I had to drop back behind him.
I had planned on stopping at Warwick MSA anyway.
We went through the roadworks at j15 and we both got back up to speed, them just before j 13,(which is s/b entry only),he slowed right down.I whipped out and was almost past him when he floored it again.
By this time we we getting close to Warwick MSA,and as his cab got halfway up my trailer,I indicated left.Oh boy,did he ■■■■ himself! It was a case of,ease off or join me in the service area.
I then pulled into Warwick MSA and he carried on his way, plonker!

slightly off topic, but a stobart idiot overtook me on a46 between bingham and saxondale islands, now for those unfortunate enough to have to travel this route regular, you will indeed know that you can’t see a bloody thing going westbound towards bingham, anyway i was doing 45mph loaded (i know should be 40,so what!!) was he really in that much of a hurry? it’s only a mile between the two islands…was so tempted to drop into there depot at newark (ex corby chilled) and report this ■■■■…but alas my better nature kicked in :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:
