I go in there about 2 times a week,today being no exception,and I’m usually in and out within a couple of hours max.Today I went in with 1 pallet,and was seen to more or less straight away,despite there being a queue,and left after less than an hour,including paperwork returned.

I work for probably the biggest retailer in Ireland,and talk to many suppliers drivers about nothing at all.However one reccurring conversation,is the Tesco RDC in Dublin,and the havoc that place can cause with your day.4am means just that,not 3.55,or 4.05.If you do happen to be late,or even if youre on time,and they feel like it,3,4,or 5 hrs is not uncommon.Our place alots rough times for suppliers,6-7 oclock etc.More often than not it runs okay and lads are tipped in no time,with no real fuss,and absolutely no bad manners fromeither party.Lets just all have a big hug at Tesco!

Probably nothing, but if you look at the article its not VOSA, its the TC becomming involved VOSA is very seperate from a /the TC. Best case scenario i would of thought is that the TC could issue a warning to their distribution centres not to keep drivers on the premises when they are (or telling them they are going to be )running out of hours. It kind of puts them in a predicament when a drivers arrives for a booking with five hours to spare and they know they might not be able to tip him, if they refuse the booking they’ll probably pay i would imagine.
But before anyone gets embroiled in a whats a best distribution centre argument, i don’t think any of them have a policy on how to treat drivers badly or indifferently. That blame lies squarley upon the management at the individual goods in. And if Tesco get in any trouble over it i’ll bet they kick arse of the management who have let drivers run short of hours etc. !!!
