Tesco sites and dropping your tri

Why do they have a rule where you have too drop your tri when parking up for the night on one of there sites ( well according to security bod thats the rule ) , I can understand if it’s one of there tris and they may need it , but what are they going too do with a step frame loaded with concrete panels , zb pain having too drop it then pick it up in the morning :smiling_imp:

Well seeing as you’re dragging one customers load, onto another customers site, to enjoy free parking, a shower and a subsidised canteen for dinner, is it really that much of a ball ache to comply with their (silly I concede) site rules? They’re probably just worried you might back the thing through the wall anyway

It’s just two much of a toodooo innit. There’s only one ‘o’ when you’re going to do something. FFS.

Agree 100%, what is better dropping your trailer and have the benefits of what Jay has pointed out or in a Lay by with no facilities?

Coz by dropping it… you can’t blame any ■■■■■■ else if you hit something …like other vehicles, buildings… etc etc

Perhaps they like trailers parked in a more secure area and it’s easier for shunters to move them if need be.
Maybe they have a quiet smaller area for overnighters and being solo allows more space for others.

Or maybe they realise transport is a fluid industry and things can change.

Or maybe the instruction from HQ was only meant to mean Tesco trailers but in true japs eye whispers style this has been missinterpreted to apply to all trailers.

Or just maybe they do it to ■■■■ you off as they’ve witnessed your speeding antics on the A66

How about this scenario
Dozy’s asleep in bed, the phone rings and it’s his planner telling him his loads been swopped & given to another driver because the customer wants the load on site 2hrs early, and the planner is aware that Dozy can’t make the new deadline due to his rest hours. Now with the trailer stood at the other end of the yard it’s a simple case of someone hooking up to the trailer & going. No need for Dozy to climb out of his bed, move his truck interrupting Dozy’s daily rest

I bet its in case of stock needed, presumably they don’t mean drop the trailer and just pull out from under it and stay there.
If you’re out the way they still access the load if needs be.

It’s normally concrete , scaffolding etc , I can’t for the life of me think what tesco Julian are going too need those kind of products for , nor can I see theyl have any use for a step frame , flat .
As for room there’s plenty of it , security bloke didn’t seem too be able to give any good reason for the need too drop a step frame with concrete on it other than its tesco rule , so you’ll adhere too it :unamused: :unamused:

That’s assuming he can find the place!!

It might also help if they’re parked up sleeping away from the trailers, & away from the disturbance of trailer swops/drop

Well I know a depot and if you want a 45mins on premises you have to unhook. The yard isn’t tight but it is tight if another truck is hooked up. That might be a possible reason.

Best whitewash a big X on it, Doze, so ya will know to hook up the right one in the morn.
