Why the hell do they have to open on the 26th,my local supermarket is open on New Year’s Day too.
I’m so glad I don’t work in retail distribution as family time means nothing to them.

the supermarkets cater to the masses,and in the uk that means " ethnic minorities " who in reality are the ethnic majority who do not celebrate xmas.( except for the naughty ones),then theres the naughtier ones that go out and get bombed as well. :slight_smile: …though why arnt the moderators blocking the posts mentioning xmas and makig us write “festive season” as the stores arnt allowed to mention merry christmas in case it offends the minority. :unamused:

It’s not just ‘ethnic minorities’ who don’t care for xmass. I’m white, male, heterosexual, working class, average height, average weight, without disabilities. I couldn’t give two hoots about the birth of a [zb] in a far away land.

The extra pay is nice though… :grimacing:

+1
Athiest and an adult so its nothing more than more money and less traffic to me

Ditto.

My local tesco is open boxing day but judging how most of the trolly were piled up last night most won’t need to go shopping until easter.
I’m not religious but love christmas away from work spending time with family and friends

Is that a sly reference to the “explosive vest” revellers? :open_mouth:

i been told i can work every shift at tesco except christmas day they run almost every day none stop just christmas day off

Iceland is running trucks on every day apart from the 25th. I am booked for a double run (night out) on boxing day

Get yourself on milk tankers if you want to work over Christmas. Business as usual.

The milk business and tankers never stops as cows do not producing milk, the farmers will not throw the milk away for the festive season and lose money.

My lot are off chrimbo day but some guys that volunteered are in New Year’s Day for trunks. The 1st, 2nd and weirdly the 4th are all being paid at treble time this year.

Firstly, I don’t care if their open or accepting deliveries, I do not work for 'em. Secondly, if that sort of question is high up in your priority, you need to get out a bit and make some friends and not worry about work…if ‘your employer’ can’t tell you what your shifts are over the festive period, I’ll ask mine, see if they can help you out

@dieseldog999 :slight_smile:
