All depots r to be put up to 56 they have been told sitting at 49 all the time causes damage to engine when loaded off to clock on now
Is it the same for Argos aswell ? as 1 of theres come screaming past last Wednesday morning on the M5 and that was a 65 plate merc
I heard from a mate who is a tesco driver that Mercedes were gonna stop supplying tes o with trucks if they carried on restricting them to 50mph due to engine and gearbox damage i know when my dad was driving for them on agency they had alot of trucks suffering gearbox problems due to being sat at such a low speed constantly and mercedes were refusing to do the work under warranty

I doubt it’s the 50mph speed limiter on them causing them problems, I’d tend to go with drivers changing gear way too early, I know of some drivers who will be loaded at say 40t and they are in 10 or 11 gear before they are anywhere near 25mph, that sort of driving can’t be good for the gear box or the engine, they aren’t using the green band which is where the power is
It won’t stop the Tesco drivers doing 42mph on the A9 though

Are’nt Teso trucks automatics? I’d be surprised if the manual override isn’t disabled.

Yeah they are autos but manual override isn’t disabled

Must be, I noticed them overtaking quite a bit on the 25.
wee gordy:

Is DAF in on it too?
Is it because they have lowered the hr rate for new drivers that they can afford the fuel [emoji102]

Fuel prices are falling too[emoji16]
Had an Ocado unit a few days back with the limiter raised from 53 to 56. Overtook some Tesco wagons and a fellow Ocado

Same zb’tty axors like tesco huh…
Admit it: You miss getting “Overspeed” on your digicards!
What about Sainsburys though? - I’ve tried overtaking these doing 56 when they are doing 50, only to have some bugger actually pulling the sainsburys trailer with a third-party tractor accelerate halfway up, leaving me high and dry.
Rotters.
I pass them like they are stood still on the m62 and 56 at night, overtook one last night pulled back in only for an irish truck to come steaming past like i was stood still! He was easy over 60 id say.
Running at constant speed of 50mph is causing dmg on engine and gear box
REALLY ■■? Oh the poor baby toy Mercedes…Bad Tesco - Bad
Oh great that means that we are now probably the slowest on the road
Still limited to 52
dozy:
My truck does 56 , was doing it years ago , made no difference , back door staff would still have you sat staring at gates for hours , no
Room, shift change ( that went on for hours) , deaf , bone idle etc etc
Was you doing 56 when you took that roof out?
