I wonder why Tesco’s don’t have any motorway services, i think they’d be better than the rest, cheaper for one thing.
already got M&S in the uk and france has Carrefour and Leclerc.
think Tesco would sell decent food at good prices and maybe bring some competition to the fuel prices on the motorway network
Have to agree with you ,there the stops in France are so well laid out
and much superior to the load of old tosh that one gets offered in GB,
even now with the problem many drivers have as regards prices and
trying to save money, the truck-stops abroad have made adjustments
so that the customener stays loyal and continues to visit the truck-stop.
There must be many places in the UK where a large supermarket could double up as an out of town store that has access directly from a motorway.
The only thing I would suggest is that there is no direct vehicle access from the out of town store/shopping centre to the motorway services as it would be likely to become a rat run to/from the motorway.
Deliveries from the motorway for trucks though.
Everything in MSA’s are more expensive because they have to pay the government huge rents. It’s the government that is ripping us off, not always the retailer.

Hmmm, I’m sorry not to share with the national ‘T’ love-in so beloved of the ‘one-stop’ brigade by their saccharine, ‘sell-by’ sweetness (whilst perhaps enshrining many social ills?) …although I extend respect to the thread.
Instead, I’d offer that they’re a blight to the nation’s small businesses and actively avoid them: Cheaper doesn’t necessarily mean ‘better’ - ie, more ethically sourced, fairly traded, environmentally friendlier, healthier or tastier …& if they’re gonna lure me in with their ‘Clubcard’ - itself alluding to be a festival of ‘family-fun’ whilst it connives in all directions, (but read Clubcard as a Big Brother Snoopcard to extort the steam off one’s pee) they’ll still only rarely stimulate my custom.

PS. Still thankful & happy to have the choice of vendors other than T*sco and as clever as they are to both avoid adding to Leahy’s wealth & using their name.

don’t think the shoppers would like car parks smelling of pee
Stuff Tesco’s… should be ALDI’s, foods cheaper and in many cases fresher!

Touche: And I don’t wanna share a yard with shopping Muppets that almost seem to worship & holiday at T*sco places.

Cheers, Coddy - exactly what I meant, but I said it all poncy.

Good example. Really good BIG car park just smell of P in the top righthand courner where the trucks park up (not that they are ment to be there as the sign says no overnight HGV’s).
The store is open 24/7 cant see why they dont make some money by charging a pultury few quid for allowing out of hours parking from say 8 or 9 pm a sign in that area would do HGV’s parking only between 8pm and 8 am there are 2 ways in to the place so they could even have the back road as the way in and out. Oh and they have 24/7 fuel too
I see there are now Waitrose shops at Oxford and South Mimms services.
