I guess it’s true then… I’m still puzzled on how they’re going to get rid of the drivers etc if TUPd across, in previous cases they’ve ended up shutting the site completely…
Sorting drivers is simple.
TUPE them over, offer them new green death contract, when they refuse take the two pronged attack of working them to the letter of their existing contracts while at the same time chip away at the contract with little changes here and there . After a while they will either have jacked or end up with a contract that pretty much matches the one they originally rejected.
Don’t think the union will help either, because they’re only interested in picking up the monthly subs.
Got to say its a shame for the existing tesco employed drivers but like all good things it eventually comes to an end.

Hate to say it, the bone idle bar stewards brought it on themselves if the rumour is true. Been in there loads on agency and boy do they think their s#it don’t stink!!!
Rumour has it that those clowns used to take 7hrs+ to go to Bridlington & back so just 1 job a day then sit in the canteen for an hour drinking free tea talking ■■■■ then clock off & go home-would you as an employer stand for that!?..lol

Thats not a rumour thats fact, I’ve seen it done! Baring in mind the trucks are limited to 49.5mph, I was driving one of their motors just before xmas and I passed another tesco truck doing 42-43mph on the M1 heading back to Donny!
If it does go to Stobarts then It’s the fault of the management not the drivers, on the whole lorry drivers are lazy and need good management to keep them motivated, factor in a very good pay deal and It’s inevitable that drivers will take the ****.
The fact that the story came from a very dubious source and the recent trend of in house transport I’ll believe it when I see it.

I can’t see how it’s a management fault/problem for a driver stringing a job out. What more motivation does a driver need when being paid above average for doing next to nothing?

Its definetly happening. Been told by our boss in Goole. It all changes on the 4th of July. Were meant to be getting a fridge trailer to be shown how to do it so we can go in and help out. Theres going to be lots of unhappy drivers in Donny.

Jul4 is today, I think ‘Mr Greedy’ means Aug4, either way sounds like tesco couldn’t wait to get rid, the other depots weren’t that quick to change over were they…!?
When I went through my induction at Tesco Donny last year, the driver trainer was eager to tell me that the top earner did £54k in 2010 
If thats true, I have no reason to disbelieve him, then I can’t for the life of me think why they’ve got stobarts in when the drivers they already have are excellent value for money!! I mean the jobs a piece of ■■■■, no nights out, discounted shopping and the bellend drivers shoot themselves in the foot by stringing the job out! No sympathy, would love to see their smug smiles next time I go in there!
