hi guys ,
i have a first run out of tesco in chepstow on friday nite/ saturday morning i start at 1 am. My first time working with them what can i expect and where could i deliver too? i will have a fridge trailer.

best of luck :smiley: your answer to the where will you go is only a guess but the next nearest tesco is soton/didcot as far as i know.so could be anywhere down south west ,south wales,swindon etc basically anywhere there is a tesco store.hopefully with trailer that will fit into the store yard.
p.s make sure there is a severn tag in the truck before leaving the d.c

Hiya Welshlad, I did a few months in Tesco Chepstow last year so let’s see what I can remember.

As you are on nights, you will be on 1 maybe 2 drops.

You could be delivering anywhere down South Wales/South West. Furthest North I went was Tewksebury or Hereford, furhest West was Haverfordwest, furthest South was Penzance…and anywhere in between of course.

If you get a local store you will be given another trailer when you get back to the RDC for another 1 or 2 dropper depending on your hours.

When you have an empty trailer at a store you will be expected to take recycling back to the centre literally just round the corner from the RDC.

There is maps for all the stores are in the Transport Office (portakabin when I was there), if your store isn’t among them ask a clerk and they will print one off for you.

Mostly day cab Scanias as I remember, with a few hired sleeper cab Mercs for the longer runs…fridge trailers of course.

All in all it’s not a bad place especially for a newbie (I don’t know if you are) The bays are bog standard (tight) but if you ask a shunter they will try to give you an easier bay if you are new.

As for the stores, if you are unsure, just ask the back door staff and they will tell you how the other drivers approach the unloading areas.
