Tekno - martintrux scania 111

Following the success of the Astran 111, Essex 141 and P&O 111 models, there is a distinct possibility that Tekno will release a replica of a MARTINTRUX Scania 111.
If anyone likes the idea of this future release, please comment below…

This is the actual unit and trailer that will be modelled, complete with sunvisor, GB and Les Routier stickers

Definately be in the market for one of those.

Since they already have the casting, how about a Hercock Continental, Patrick or ProMotor ?

You are thinking along the right lines Dazzler  Sayers of Newbury, Swains of Stretton, LLoyds, Peter Roff… the list is endless.
The theme is “UK companies doing European work” who are no longer with us. Be great to see a range of Tekno models depicting these companies.

Very surprised this thread hasnt had more response! Martintrux had a very distinguishable livery and with a fleet of 25-30 motors running UK - Italy, it was very well known “back in the day”

I’ll be wanting one of those Ash, What have Tekno got up there sleeves for the next Astran, Does Kevin know ■■? Something in Cream and brown would be nice …

This picture is proof that us McKellar boys did stop occasionally

We should have a poll on here and vote for whichever you think would make an eye-catching model.
Please put a photo up with your submission.
here’s mine to start it off

Don’t have the photos but would definately love to see

Hercock, Patrick & ProMotor as I’ve already mentioned along with

F89 Leggett European

Scania or Volvo - ACH

Scania WM Woods/Incotrans/Roba (or a set of all 3!)

Perhaps Ossie D could help out with photos of the above ■■?

Come on Bill, please dont hi-jack the Martintrux thread. I’m trying to get peoples thoughts on a Martintrux model on here mate…
By all means start another thread for “favourite companies” though.

Hi Ash

Sounds long overdue. Would be great to see martintrux in minature. As you know they were based in Tilbury and had offices in felixstowe, Dover,Zeebrugge, Venlo. incidently the venlo office was run by George smeets now known as smeets the unaccompanied trailer operator. Yes they more than deserve a model on the shelf next to Essex international etc . Its easy to forget how big this firm was and how you couldn’t have missed these motors going down the the A2 to dover on a sunday night through out the 70s and 80s.

Lion Car have already done a Martintrux model & i was lucky enough to grab it off ebay for £15 so i need a 111 to go alongside it

Keep you eyes open, there are at least 2 more versions of this model, the Venlo one which you have, one with Tilbury on, and one more of which i cant remember what was on it. Sold my Tilbury one a long while ago now, wish I hadn’t now
