Funnily enough, I was driving a tanker delivering to a Tesco garage and there was this car stopped on the hatched yellow markings where I needed to be, so I flashed my lights to let him know I was there and he got out and started shouting at me calling me a prick…
This is the type of idiot that make my job harder and harder every day !
The hatched area has been painted on the floor for a reason !
This is just another case of ’ Im alright jack, [zb] the rest of you ’ !!!
You thought you where in the right, well know you know that you wernt, all you have done is to prove to everyone that you are a total knobhead…enough said!
Err, don’t think so mate, so why not check out the reality at any fire station of your choice before you write about stuff that you clearly don’t understand?
RobRob:
As someone else said, customer comes first. Without the customers, said tanker driver would be very quickly drawing dole!
Those who don’t think, or understand, about safety need to have it forced upon them for their own good, so it’s attitudes like this that get forecourts closed off during deliveries.
You’ve seen that some forecourts get closed off during deliveries, so why is that, and who do you really think comes first?
Why not try going to a forecourt that’s closed during a delivery and start bleating to the management about you being a customer and that you come first?
Sam Millar:
To be fair the chances of him pulling up was fairly slim but when he did you should have said fair enough and moved on.
i never knew that all petrol tankers had dodgy brakes. you learn summat new every bleedin day i for one will not be parking on the yellow hatched area again

Clearly you think you’re funny, but i’ll make it clearer. It’s not every 5 minutes a tanker pulls up to fill the tanks is it?

I think the tanker driver was wrong for getting angry and agitated so early if I was him I would have got out my lorry and spoke politely and asked this guy to move. If then he didn’t move then yes I would have been the same as this tanker driver and call the car driver a ■■■■ and exchange words
If I was the car driver and the tanker driver asked me politely to move I would of done just that and rejoined another quee or if I had enough petrol I would drive to the next station too see if theres no que as yes I’m an inpatient ■■■■.
On the other hand if I was the car driver I wouldn’t of moved if the lorry driver was bossy and spoke to me like crap
If this situation was between me and the tanker driver above in this post then this situation and the shouting wouldn’t of happened because both parties would clearly be polite and co-opertive. The question is if the tanker driver was polite and asked you kindly to move then would you of ■■?
So moral of the story is to treat people how you would want to be treated don’t make life harder than it needs to be as a old guy told me once a little courtesy never goes a miss
To be fair to the OP the tanker driver shouldn’t of mouthed off to the customer - anyone working in the store mouthing off like that would have been instantly binned by the management and rightly so.
BTW I’m not saying the OP was right parking where he did but having some Billy big rig road captain flashing his lights at him, what would most have
done? Tell the ZB to ZB off probably. Seems the whole thing was escalated by both sides.
By the way Diesel Dave I lose respect for the tanker boys and their thought for safety when you see them hammering through Long Stratton at about 50mph in a 30 late at night inches from buildings where a couple of foot either way and it’s good night Vienna lol.

ok ok, was waiting for this.
1st this is what this furum is for,ie to post posts regardless of whether you agree with the content or not. crying or whinging we all do it at some point, some people even whinge about the whingers
2nd No, i dont block box junctions out on the road but i’ve seen other drivers that do.
3rd the hatched area in the garage forcourt doesn’t come under the same regulations as puplic highway’s.
4th if the driver was running out of time then he needs lessons in managing it.
I take it not one of you commenters have ever stopped in this area?
5th what have your employers told you about engaging the puplic?
your obviously stupid!
You are abusing Professional truck drivers who just do the Job to bring Value in “Your” life?
I just have a similar Attak behind me,and can tell you i was seating right here for over 20 min not remembering my Password of my Computer. And you are lucky too.It could have catched him much more seriously and you could have been punished by court to pay him a Pension for not able to do his Job anymore
The simple fact here. Is th OP should NOT Be on the yellow hatch. OK, there was no delivery there at the time. Does that make it OK? He doesn’t know when the delivery was due. So should have anticipated it. MOVE!
if i was the tanker driver i would have asked for the forecourt to be shut due to so many cars on it and needing a safe working enviroment and the rest of the health and safety ■■■■■■■■. that way you the OP would have got your just deserts and had to ■■■■ off elsewhere for your fuel you queued 5 deep for

Didn’t the OP say he had had enough of flashing lights and got out and said, and in his own words, “WHAT?!” so I think the attitude originated from the op.

Quite right too Bazza, cos they certainly shouldn’t be doing what you’ve described, and all the more so with a DG tanker.
