Tax Discs

NFU are bit postcode sensitive and there can be big differences for the same vehicle in different locations. I live in the sticks so get a fair rate, I used to live in Southampton and insurance wise was a lot more dosh.

Postcodes? GRhhh

got a quote from ins co. for car. Worked night trunking and stated that car was parked at night in a secure compound with cameras and security all night.
Dearer than being parked in drive at home!!!
reason… bad postcode

£1000 fine?!

Still less than my ruddy premiums! you try being a 22 year old and having a car insured these days, its only a 1.2 Hatchback for gods sake…and that’s including the 4 years no claims!

Alex

Just insured a C180 Merc for 150 quid for the year and the missus has a C180 kompressor 220 quid fully comp.

Dont worry you will be 50 soon!!!

just in passing, when i first started driving commercials , the company I drove for had NO insurance at all, perfectly legal though!
Any suggestions why?

Size and asset value of the company. It’s called ‘self-insuring’ or used to be.
BRS, NHS, Post office sized companies used to do it and still can if they want to, however, being as most companies are run by accountants who want to know how much the outgoings will be every month, most now go for normal insurance.

i thought mine was a bit steep untill i read this post. i’m 36, married with kids and pay 430 for a m reg 2.2 injection accord coupe fully comp.
