I’ve gotten a telephone interview with Tarmac soon, basically its £6.70ph for 7 months whilst training, then if you pass the class 2 it goes up to £9.50ph.
I know its possible to get the license much quicker however I’d have to pay for it and currently that would be ermm…difficult…
Does anyone have any experience with Tarmac as an employer etc?

It sounds more like your embarking on a career in a tarmac gang! Other will know better than me, but I’d assume these gangs are quite tight knit, as they have to work together in a coordinated way. So first mate, you probably need to be “made of the right stuff” which accounts for your initial 7 months. After this period, when they put you through your class C, don’t be surprised if a 2 year tie in is mentioned to cover the training, which you can probably buy your way out of…
So based on my hunch; if this is just a route to get into HGV work (not tarmac work), I don’t think it’ll be the easier!
