Who remembers Fleet Haulage of Ribchester?

How about Stag?

Malc I remember Fleet and Stag I am sure when they started up the drivers came from Dawsons at least one did a blonde haired guy I think they called him Lenny but could tell a good tale met him a few times
cheers Johnnie

Stag became known as City Tankers but we had another name that rhymed with it :stuck_out_tongue: I think they started off doing the wax out of West Drayton

Malc that would fit in with what I can recall as the wax job was Dawsons so it would seem that they were started by someone from Dawsons who nicked their work and drivers or set up in competition should I have said

cheers Johnnie

Another thread where I mentioned them, was Mr Gee anything to do with Dawsons?

Hi guys, I started at Dawsons as an apprentice in1972, the company was Astor Wax and Dawsons had some in their colours, if I remember correctly, David Gee was the transport manager for Dawsons at one point. My Dad drove for Dawsons in the 60’s, at one time he was on petrol tanks with an F reg. S39 Foden. There is a picture of one of Stags F88’s on here somewhere.

This is the ERF I had when I was at R K Browning Leighton Buzzard.

And a few oldies from Leighton Buzzard

A couple of Arclid Transport Fodens from when we were working out of Rugby Cement at Chinnor

Does anyone recognise the driver, I can’t remember his name, I was on for RKB at the time, we used to have some realy good nights out with those boys.
