merc actros demo truck i was lumped with saturday

How did that weigh off in comparison to the Scania and DAF your company uses?

Interesting to see a demo motor with a cargo compressor, good idea though, we always had to plan an easy life for the demo trucks when they really needed double shifting to make it a worthwhile exercise.

they were quite heavy mate
with having a large fuel tank, big mid lift axle and the metal wheel arches, it weighed in around 16300 if i remember, cf and scania are around the 15600 mark

dont understand as too why they wouldnt manafacture a mini mid lift version for specialist types i dont think they will sell many to tanker operators with that approach, also why metal wheel arches? whats wrong with the conventinal plastic ones? hopefully they will get the feedback off the demonstrators and a lot of it wont be posotive! :sunglasses:

The metal wheel arches are for ADR.
All the fuel tankers have them.

I did and have been checking if Mr Lynch has kept up with his pressure test dates. I made sure the bucket was plastic too although the safety device for the top discharge looks a bit suspect, especially if it is made out of aluminium. :open_mouth:

Hi Malc
I dont think you would find anything wrong with any of the late Pete Lynchs tanks he always did and still have one of the best maintained tanker fleets around and I would say that the safety bar is definately stainless steel without doubt.0

The top discharge that you refer to is in fact a vent system and is used with a 3inch camlock fitting takes the fumes away when loading

Spotted this one at North Rode Show today with a Globetrotter hooked on the front.
As soon as I can work out how to use my scanner I’ll post a photo of my old girl in “pink paraffin” livery.

Immingham.

Does this one count?
