Here is one of the new Daf 85 6x2 tractors with a food grade tank just at the entrance of Cargills , Liverpool.
I have really enjoyed this thread so I thought I might post some pictures of my own. I hope you all like them and they come out okay…
Great pics, and nice to hear the little stories to go with them. Thanks for posting!

Thanks, you’re welcome. When I went to look for them last night, I didn’t realise I had so many. I probably have enough to start an H&S thread!
I’ll do another post with some old colleagues on (by request) when I get home tonight.
Glad you like them.

These were sent to me by my good friend John Jackson who is based in Barrow in Furness. This is his lorry used for the movement of waste materials (water) etc from off the ships
Plus some old ones from transportphotos.com/road/photos
Oh dear, a floor mounted exhaust and a rusty cantilever toolbox on a food tanker?
That toolbox was my Dads,I’ll have you know!!
I don’t think any of the Fleet Trucks at H&S had upright exhausts while I was there but I know other companies liked to have them. It never caused me any problems. Maybe having the pump on the tank rather than on the truck made the difference?
On reflection, the Kasten on the chassis behind the cab was far more practical but we all went mad for our ‘Danish Style’ lockers on our shiny new Scanias…

Has anyone got any pics of Suttons tankers. One of my uncles used to drive for them a few years back, Sure it was either a Foden or a Merc he had!
Thanks, Can remember looking out for him whenever one passed on the motorway, Think it was around 2005 he stopped working for them.
