good pics mizzo the first 3 were based at thornaby the last 1 was driven by my dad from oldham,it was on the phillips contract when it finished i painted it up in sadlers colours
The ‘F’ reg ERF was one of two ‘new’ units we got when CPL bought Sadlers out, i think they both came from Charringtons, none of these were ‘mine’ but 364 the one you painted was a good motor. I drove this one for a weeks holiday relief, it was a cracker, normally driven by Ian Thorpe.

I thought Mr Stanfield might like these, the line up was taken long before I started at Sadlers, the photo was on the wall in the traffic office and I was given it when I was told it was heading for a skip. This was when Stiller bought Sadlers and we were moving. The other photo is ‘my’ 95, loaded with used electrical oil from Boulby Potash, on my way to Castrol at Ellsemere Port, I think in 1998.
Hi Mizzo I remember that line up photo there was another one in the board room of just the Atki on its own and we had it at the Oldham depot in our traffic office and funny enough I was only thinking about where it went too a couple off weeks back.I have the model of a Scania + Tank which was also in the board room given to me by Tim Hall at home,do you ever remember seeing that their.
John
Hello John, yes I remember all the pictures models etc, I was’nt quick enough to get anymore, as I said the line up picture was heading to a skip. I think Dave Muir may have got one or two of the larger pictures. When Imperial moved into the Stiller office there was some Sadler pictures on the walls but again I don’t know what happened to them. Heres another Sadler motor, the regular driver was Dereck Dawson, I am off-loading at G.B Oils Gateshead.
Hi mizzo
Its unbelievable to think that someone would throw such nostalgic items away, but glad you got hold of it before they skipped it.I emailed Paul Stiller the other day and he is going to sort me some photos out of there fleet but he said it could be around 2 weeks before I get them.Do you see anything of Dave Muir at all & is he still at Dixons.
Here’s one I took when we were at the Morecambe depot early 80s
John
Hello John, thats a good photo of the Marathons, long before my time of course! I know Dave is fit and well and still at Dennis Dixons, a few of the ex Sadler drivers work there and i see at least one of them regularly, i still see @ 15 ex Sadler drivers quite often. I agree wholeheartedly about chucking old photos in the bin, this is history no matter what and should be kept. Heres one of my eldest daughter ‘driving my 95’ if you look in the background you will see 349 ‘the beast’ Strato, 321 a gutless 2700 on Philips and to left Alan Scotts Stato, can’t remember its reg though. Cheers, Mizzo.
