Tanker fire

Long delays between J16 - J17 M6 due to a tanker fire, lanes 1 & 2 are closed passing the scene.

J16 - J17…I’ve been there before… Sure of it.

Just can’t put my finger on it, there is a few different places with the same name.

The police are suggesting on Twitter it was started by a tyre blowout… yikes. Could have been a lot worse.

M6 i presume?

I’m sure in moments like that, the firm would rather it wasn’t sign written!

Lazy [zb], couldn’t he/she of un-coupled…

:unamused: Im sure you would spend a minute uncoupling a petrol tanker on fire :unamused:

Only one thing to do in that situation, RUN!

You’re right, the fuel was for someone who’s name is written on the tanker.

Have wondered what all this ADR dangerous loads stuff is about when basically it comes down to → something goes wrong = run like hell…!

Hopefully the driver out did the Olympic record in terms of the 100 metres sprint from this one. As for uncoupling mrginge - no point as the TM will be phoning him / her back to say the tyre people are on their way and once sorted, can they make it back to the depot by 6?

We have a 5 minute worth of air grab pack with fitted face mask. It sits on the passenger side floor because it won’t go any where else. So if anything goes off am I balls running to passengers side to get it, I’m offski

Some dont find it a problem , crack on drive - home for tea and biscuits  :grimacing:

Our Aluminium Tankers have Support-Frames where the Plates welded together. We had a idiotic Mechanic who tryed to close a 5 millimetre Hole with Welding as Benzin run out. He got the Tank with a loud Bang on Fire
Too expensive to wash the Tank, weld the Crack where the Benzin came into the support Frame. Had to get a new Side all the Trailer Lenght
