Are these the highest paid guys driving a hgv?
Is it likely that in 30 years, there wont be many tanker drivers jobs left (no petrol)?

There’s no definate answer, it seems from your posts you’re only looking at this industry because of the potential of earning 40k on a tanker, i’d reccommend you don’t bother getting into it if that’s the case as your heart won’t be in the job etc, you have to like to be out and about etc and want to do it…
Realisticly, a GOOD job should see you earn circa 30k without doing silly hours.
you could go to uni get that degree into forces where they will put you through officers training then high paid job simple
btw driving is a way of life not a "job "
as you could be out all week or for several week at a time living in the truck not in hotels
