I can see why people dread slap-overs but I think they are better than 4 over 4’s. With a 4 over 4 if you run the box through too quickly you get the “I’m not going in any gear” gear, you don’t get that in slap-overs. I passed in an auto so going manual was a bit of a shock. Doing it by myself in a truck I’ve never driven before was an experience but I think drivers need to know all gearboxes. I can also atest to those Euro-cargos and their autoboxes. They go live zb off a shovel.
