Tail gater

This morning coming around the M25 i came into the 50mph limit in the roadworks before the M11. Knocked it back to 50. Within a matter of moments i became aware of a blue SSXF, still flat to the floor right up until he braked eratically an proceeded to flash his lights and blow his horn at the car in the lane next to me and tailgated the poor car driver till he bailed out into lane 3. As he overtook me i could see him geastiure to the car driver and then moved on to his next victim. I’ve never felt so ashamed to be a truck driver. What a bully and a pig. Watch out for this idiot.

Maybe his house was on fire…

Give his details to the police let them deal with him

Had I been that car driver, I would have VERY gradually slowed down and maybe pulled in behind you if it was safe
OR
done my old trick - very gradually slowed to 30ish then used my acceleration power back to 50 quickly and left the truck standing !!

Police will do nothing is my experience.
I have a serial offender driving for me… Verbal and written warnings now
the latest just yesterday… Then this morning another complaint.
On the carpet next week… Depends on his reaction as to his future.

Sorry Necille, if he had been working for me, he would have been shown the door a while ago :unamused:

as you say, it is the reputation of your company at stake, it is totally un-acceptable for this behaviour from an alledged professional driver

id agree with you 100% , but its not just the truck driver who needs a ■■■ kicking, whys the car driver BAILING OUT INTO LANE 3,shouldnt he be bailing out into lane 1,i actually watched a car on the m1 the other day and as a car ,truck came up behind him ,indicated into lane 1 then when they passed him he indicated and moved back out into lane 2 , he did this 6/7 times , why he never stayed in lane 1 is beyond me, but even though there is no excuse for tailgating, someone i.e coppers need to start pulling cars and explaining, fining them for driving in lane 2/3 when lane 1 is free to use, but the chances of that happening is zero

Couldn’t agree more, if we’re going to nobble people for agressive driving, lets nobble the ones who drive without paying any attention to whats going on around them too.

But how many chances are you giving to your man seems like hes had his chance ■■ WHY NOT JUST fire him and take on someone who deserves the job …

You misunderstand, lane 1 was full of me and other traffic, there was no where for the car driver to go. He maybe should of stood his ground but this moron was very close. No good blaming the car driver for stickin to the speed limit.

Sorry Rob, i wasn’t refering directly to the scenario you seen, i just meant in general. I’m limited to 50mph and i think everyone i pass when i’m in lane one (and they’re in lane two ) should be done for driving without care and that happens even at 4am when there’s nowt else on the road, or anytime really.

Yeah fair point Mike, they are in a world of their own

the only trouble with that action is that it would blow his mind completly, better to pull over and then if possible slot in behind and ring the police whilst following. maybe you’d get action if you were giving details as witness to his actions. or maybe i’m being ever so slightly deluded  that supposing they wouldnt want to nick you for using a phone whilst driving, and now i’m being synical

no now after reading the full story i dont blame the car driver, more the driver of the RED SCANIA, you could see the situation arising in the lane ajacent to you but instead of EASING OFF, flashing the car in, you left him to bail out into lane 3 .[not prepared to loose a few seconds by knocking it off i bet].
poor driving by 2 so called profesional drivers in my opinion

Oh ady, nothing better to do on christmas day other than go fishing?

here is hoping it was an “average speed camera” section. Would have lost his licence by the end of the roadworks… lol.

Merry Christmas

I had this happen to me one Monday morning many, many years ago, before I even had my class 1. I was just north of Toddington services in a line of traffic in the middle lane in a van, and had two of my children with me. I was travelling quite legally at 70mph and a lorry driver wanted me out of his way ! I couldn’t move into either lane 1 or 3 because of other traffic, so what did the lorry driver do? He forced a driver out of lane 1 onto the hard shoulder and ‘undertook’ my vehicle, I ended up in his slip stream and had a terrifying few moments trying to regain control of the van without hitting anyone else, he then went on to do the same to other cars as well. My husband who was following in his lorry (we were both delivering to the same company in Barnet), found me shaking on the hard shoulder; he found the lorry driver concerned on the services, and reported him to the police. Several days later I had a visit from our local police, and they were going to prosecute me for obstructing the highway! Now tell me if I’m wrong, but lorries are/were limited to 60mph on motorways, and vans/cars can do 70, so I asked them if they were prosecuting the lorry driver as well; the answer was no, so I told them to get lost and I’d see them in court. Needless to say, I never heard another thing out of them.
