Can any one tell me how often they catch people for going over your hours? An what has happend to them? Do people lose there licences for going across 7.5 ton limit bridges if they got lost an there is no other way apart from over the bridge? or they felt really ill at the time? thanks pete!
Hi Pete, and welcome to the heavy world of driving.!!!
So long as you write on the back of your tacho the reason why you went over your hours (so long as its legal) you dont have to worry. As for the 7.5 ton side of it the road should have been signed further back to enable you to avoid the limit! If not blame the local council

Pete if you mess up on Tacho Rules, be honest and write on the card. It’s far less of an offence than getting caught trying to create a false entry.
As for the weight limit if it states no entry to vehicles over 7.5 tonne except for loading it their because the local don’t want trucks, (because they never have anything that has been carried by a truck do they) if you go through it and are not delivering in the weight limit area then find another way out as their are old dears behind the curtains taking your number and reporting you to the police. If it doesn’t have the except for loading on the sign then the bridge might not be able to take the weight, think about not going over. Round here we have several bridges that have a 17 tonne weight limit, but it states that unladen vehicles can cross them.
