Tachometer MOT rules

My tacho had the 6 year check done in 2012 but does not have the 2 year check in date
Will it pass the mot with just the 6 year or do I need both in date.(mot on tues)
The lorry is 2001 which I am using on a restricted licence to carry my own goods
The tacho is NOT one that you put a card in but is one in the shape of a car radio positioned in the panel above your head
This lorry is not registered for a restricted licence yet because it will not be on the road for another month and the restricted licence is on my other truck

First stop is the MOT station, second stop is the Tacho Test Centre. Then it’ll be legal to use on the road.

thanks
So just to clarify , your saying it will pass mot without 2 yearly check on tacho

No. Tacho check must be done first, then vehicle submitted for annual test.

Not for an analogue tachograph.

From the HGV MOT Inspection Manual, Section 26 Page 1/5:

gov.uk/government/uploads/s … manual.pdf

Installation/calibration plaques expire after 6 years for analogue, 2 years for digital.

The 2 year check is not part of this inspection for analogue tachographs only. However if the examiner notices this plaque is not displayed the presenter must be advised.

Analogue is just an advisory for no 2 yearly plaque, digi gets re calibrated every 2 year so no 6 year plaques on digital.

thanks guys
that will save me a lot of hassle on monday trying to get somewhere to check it at short notice
