how many on here were given proper training ■■ I drive for a small outfit, mostly vans with a couple of 7.5t. I was asked to provide a passport photo and complete the form. gaffer sent them off and a short while later a card arrived. my training consisted of …put card in here ,it will automatically go to driving when you set off. every time you stop press button 1 until a bed appears. stop for fuel at x ,put it on rest (bed) and make it last 15 mins .drive again until you have done 4 1/2hrs driving then stop for 30 mins, then you can drive for another 4 1/2 hrs . comprehensive or what ■■ . fortunately I have a mate who drives and he has been very helpful with advice, but he tramps so there have been times I have got on his nerves ringing him when he has been trying to get his head down, but hey that’s what friends are for . so when I finally bite the bullet and spend a few hundred quid on the dcpc tacho rules will be one of the subjects I will be interested in .
i got no training at all, but when i signe dup to the agencey the other day i was sent an emapy with two documents one was the working times etc the other was how to use all of the tacho machines. stored them on my phone after reading them just in case i have to go back to them later lol.
Before all this modern training we simply asked other drivers how things worked and it seemed to work well enough for years and years

^ this, plus there is a raft of tacho and hours info online, if you have a smart phone try trucktimer app also you could download rules as pdf and keep on your mobi.
