I do my first ever shift on Monday and I’ve realised that I’m not sure who is responsible for providing tacho rolls. Is it me or the company I’m driving for?

company is for providing them but you are responsible for having enough so if they do not provide then you do not go out
Think of tacho rolls as bog rolls. It doesn’t matter when the tube is empty, who should have provided one.
You are in the sh*t.
Cheers guys. I thought that but didn’t want to find out I was wrong the hard way!
There should be a spare in the cab if not ask
I do carry my own mind have at least 2 spare ( if run out make sure you put roll in right way
)
as an agency driver (aerm…yes ‘one of them’ ) I always carry 3 spare rolls in my bag.
If I have to use one I will then ask the company I have done the shift for to replace it (but so far have not had to do this).
I think the rules are that there should be 2 spare ones in the cab. Of course company should provide them but the driver is responsible to check they are physically there.

The Regs simply require that the driver carries “sufficient” printer paper to enable a printout to be produced. No requirement for any specific number of spare rolls (or even any spare rolls at all - if there’s enough paper in the head unit then that will suffice).

thank you Roymondo
I don’t remember where I’ve read that, but anyway, my 3 spare ‘toilet rolls’ will be more than enough then in either situation (sorry don’t like ‘digi-tachos’ I am ‘old school’
)
