An I right in thinking that if I have a 15 followed by a 30, that if I need a second break later that break must be a 45, and not a split break, or can you take a 2 split breaks■■? ie both 15 followed by the 30■■?

Once you’ve had your first 15 then 30, you’ve wiped the slate clean. So you can have another 15 then 30 if that suits you.

Thanks Pete, thats cleared up the discussion we were having at the yard today… 
Still not quite right though when you think about it, you can drive 8 hrs and 55 minutes with a 30 min break, when before you could do it with only a 15 min break, does that extra 15 mins really make a difference over approx 9 and a half hours spread■■? was it a wasted exercise changing it?

before you could have 3, 15 mins brakes or you could do 30 mins and then 15 mins
there all so stop the part brakes IE 20 mins the 25 mins cos if you remember as log as the brake was more that 15 mins it would count as brake all the other mins over 15
but now is as to be 15 and then 30 or a full 45
and if you take a brake of 30 mins first you would still be required to take the 30 min one as the other 15 mins in your first brake would not count

Them do gooders spoil everything lol, I remember my boss ringing vosa about doin 30 min then 15 and driving nearly 9 hrs with only the 15 mins, there reply was yes its legal but we dont like drivers doing it, i remember it being legal in yorkshire but lancashire police doing you for it.

yep you could but they changed it so its now and has been for a long time 15 first 30 second
