would a truck that carries race cars come under tacho hours its taxed private and is leisure it is a 17ton truck with a trailer behind,reason im asking i will be driving a normal day at work probably about 7 hrs then at night i have been asked by a friend to drive his race truck to holland for the weekend do i need a 9 hour break in between day job and mates job,i think i do but im just making sure
in short if its over 7.5t and for private use you have to use the tacho, found this on piston heads as well
Since April 11th 2007, the exemption from the EU drivers hours regulations for Private use of HGV’s has been recinded, and any private HGV will have to fit/use a tachograph and keep the records for a minimum of 1 year. This also means that the driver will have to keep to the letter of the law as to driving hours, and rest breaks
