Tacho placement in cabs

right ive just got a 10 plate ex stobart scania.way better than the 85cf i had before and lover the space i have in it and can store all my out gear in the side locker.just a shame they had not been speced with the twin outside lockers would of been good.
ok im geting to used to the digi now with n problems at all.the only grip ive got is why the hell do they have to install it so far up above ur head.ive had a op on my shoulder due to frozen shoulders so can not get full use of my shoulder but can reach it when i over speed not on purpose of course.why can they not be fitted into the bashboard under the radio or to the left it instead plenty of room as most of the switchs are empty.plus it give u more locker space up top aswell.would u rather have it down there aswell

The worst place I’ve seen a digital tachograph fitted was in a Renault premium, for some reason I’ve never figured out the tachograph was fitted at the side of the steering column in front of where your right knee is when your driving :open_mouth:

I couldn’t even put the card in without either standing outside or leaning out the door :open_mouth:

Obviously it was impossible to see the display while sat in the drivers seat :frowning:

we have dafs , just the same …a real b***ache

The LF with the Renault cab in its euro 3 form …that was a disaster but a good money maker in analogue form with knees breaking drawers ,…Luckily they moved it in Euro 4/5 LF’s

Our midlum has the tacho in the same place by your right knee and its the draw type, couldn’t find it the first time I got into it
