Tacho Modes

I require some infomation by any one who can provide me the answers.
Tachograph modes…Cross Hammers / Bed / Box with a line through it.
If there is no mode to select for Driving because it is automatic then which mode should i set it to while driving out of the 3 modes or does it not matter since the Tachograph will start to register any driving. I have no idea and can not find any one to give me a straight anwser. cheers.

Take a look here at this site it wil help answer your question,s
under the link to HGV DRIVERS:

Take a look at your TACHO it will say the following AUTOMATIC this means
driveing is automatical set to record when you move the vehicle, youset the mode switch to the required mode that you are carrying out when the vehicle is stopped ie…BED for rest or breaks, Crossed hamers --for work,
Take a look at the site and study the rules this will ensure you are
upto datewith the correct information.

Don’t take any notice of Pete! All you do is just leave it on break all the time.

Pain the arse tacho modes , Hammers , squares and beds .

When the wtd came in and the modes were changed the company i work for had it in their heads that instead of useing the box to record poa and drive on the hammers they could choose to record poa by writing it down in another cleverly designed box on the run sheet and time sheet and not bother with the modes .
So as they requested been driving on the square and also recording other work on that . Now they have decided to comply with the rest of the country and drive on the hammers and poa on the square  .
Someone from above has told them what they were asking us to do and the info they provided us with was wrong .

Thanks for the intel chaps :sunglasses: What i have decided to do is drive on Cross Hammers so should i need to fuel up or work it will all ready be on the mode other work and i can use do the other two modes as and when they are required :wink
