Hi is it ok to turn both the tachograph machine and the vehicle clock back an hour thanks.
No. You can set your display to whatever time your heart desires, but the tacho
stays on UTC. You’d be hard pushed (i.e. You couldn’t do it) to alter the tacho time by more than one minute per week anyway, so it’s a moot point.

We were all issued with instructions if needed on how to change the tacho clock in line with the clocks going back today for a fleet of about 40 vehicles, we did the same when the clocks changed last time?

Your underlying tacho clock is (or should be) set to UTC (what used to be known as GMT) and only an authorised tacho centre can change it. This is the time you get on a printout.
The clock you can see can be set by you to show any time you want - if you cross the channel, you could set it to local time if you can be bothered.

Depends on where you are

not so. I can set mine to whatever time I want and it doesn’t even know what utc is
… ahh the joys of analogue

I’d rather cut my nuts off with a rusty spoon than drive anything old enough to still be running an analogue tacho. We thought trucks were good back then because they were better than what had gone before but I’d rather drive something new enough to need Euro 6. Sod being more uncomfortable and working harder at the job for some misplaced rose tinted spectacled memory of the past.

Each to their own, I’ll drive any of our fleet new or old without ■■■■■■■■ about euro 6 or lack thereof. And as for being uncomfortable and working harder? man up snowflake

A MAN does both when you change tacho head time

Just change the timezone on the tacho to GMT and all shall be sorted. Unless you have an older truck then the trucks time will need changing separately.
Only thing to watch is some tachos do half hour timezones so it could be “GMT + 30” which can be confusing when you’re looking at the clock.
As mentioned internally it always runs one timezone but display time is different.
Perhaps one of the mods could change the timezone on here as it’s still on BST!!!
Re forum, go to Control Panel (top right ish) > Board Prefs > deselect the “GMT” option in the list.
I’ve got a man 1st one ever had. Had it about a month.
Just got in it to start my week tacho is flashing new time is this correct.
Didn’t have do a thing did it automatically for me
My Merc asked me if I wanted to change the time…then did it automatically.
No need to ask an agency bod

I ain’t a snowflake. I’ve done years with Eaton Twin Split and Constant Mesh gearboxes, put my time in stripping down tilts and standing on top of stacks of timber on docks in all weathers roping and sheeting down loads and it was crap. It isn’t so much about it being Euro 6 as it is about being a modern lorry with all the comforts and toys that come with it. You can shove your manual gearboxes and palm couplings where the sun don’t shine, I like having auto gearboxes, air con, cruise control, adaptive cruise control, electrically adjustable mirrors. And as I give a crap about the air I breathe and the world I live in I prefer having a lorry that only uses 170 litres a night on a run instead of 200.
