Tacho legal dilema

If you were told that your load was ready at a large depot in Barcelona,in the scenario,you have slept about a kilometre away,as the security would not let you park overnight, when that days driving, and duty hours ran out.
So the next morning,put the anologue tacho in,to drive to the freight forwarders,then they tell you,there is a delay,in which it becomes a 15 hour duty,with a km of driving,would you then book off for a 9 or a11 daily rest to start the next day,or do a full 9 or 10 hour drive,when you have sat there all day,and finish loading,with the boss shouting which ferry you want,the problem is how you can not hide the km driving to get loaded,as the kilometres will not add up,which would cause a problem if stopped.

Its not a dilemma, it is simply illegal and if you want to preach on one thread that all owner drivers run bent, why are you worrying about it now? I know what I would do.

But in all my time of driving in Europe I cannot recall the situation where the security will not let you park on site or fail to offer you a place to wash and probably shower.

The mental patient that i was working for was trying to book me on the ferry the next day,so 15 hours on the bay/loading ramp,doing nothing,then the next day for Dieppe,either the am or pm ferry,and he could not understand why i could not make it,one hit from Barca to Dieppe,it was like explaining it to a Cocker Spaniel,all talk and fluffy ears.

As we know… you whistle for a cocker, not talk. Perhaps thats where you’ve been going wrong all these years Toby. You should have used a whistle down the phone, or carrier pigeon, whatever was in mode in the good old days!!

you could drive another 9kms. it’s not so easy to hide 1km, it’s easier to hide 10kms.
personally i wouldn’t have started a card at all. :laughing:

I went to a place in Portugal. One of the little Hitlers on the gate said I couldn’t park overnight on the premises. The other guard went mental at him, and in broad English told him to fork off!

Big Vern,i found the Porkies to be a bit thick,with no common sense,once i was told to pay about 40 pence for some papers to clear at the border to go up to Vigo,the agent paid the fee,but when he saw me with a 20 pound note,(escudoes),he went berserk,and made me cough up,i did not want to break up the note,he told the bar man to deduct what he was owed from the drink i had bought.Petty i thought,they make a mountain from a mole hill.

personally id have just started new card or wouldnt have put on in in the first place

9 hrs off min then start a new card the law,s the law. You cant just choose to run when it suites what happens the next time the boss wants you to run dodgy and he say’s you done it last time. If you all ways run correct you know where you are and so does the bosses no confusion.
