My question is about the tacho head unit data which is stored and data downloaded from it to tacho software.
If the data is downloaded from the head unit will I be able to see the drivers who have drove that vehicle even if they’ve left the company and not downloaded their digi card?

From memory, the VU holds a full years data and that includes who was driving the vehicle and when, so assuming we’re talking about drivers who have left the company within that time the answer is yes the company will be able to see the drivers records.
Whether they’ve been downloaded or not is irrelevant because downloading the driver card does not remove the data from the VU.
Ahh ok so when I download the headunit all my drivers and their data show on my tachomaster software regardless of whether they’ve left the company or not?

I’ve no idea about downloading the VU onto Tachomaster but be aware that downloading the data from the VU does not negate the companies legal obligation to get the drivers card downloaded.

SOME of their data will be visible to you. I’m pretty sure you can see most details of working/driving/breaks/POA while the card was in, but I don’t think you will see any manual input entries they may have made covering times that the card was not in the head unit, nor will you see any data for shifts spent working/driving for other companies (which could be quite significant in the case of agency drivers). This is why it is a requirement that you download drivers’ cards regularly, and why most companies routinely download agency drivers’ cards every shift.
Well the kid who was at the magistrates court with me was being done for pulling his card 3 months previously , so I’d of said yes they can tell who was driving the lorry & when
