If I have less than 11 hours rest the driving time never zeros, so it shows 15 hours+ driving the next day after a reduced rest. Am I doing something wrong?
Driving time should be 're set after 45 minutes let alone 9hrs, they don’t normally go wrong but maybe it has so try and get it booked in to your local tacho workshop.

Accumulated daily driving I’m on about.

You mean weekly/fornightly driving time? If so this won’t reset until you have a weekly rest (24/45h off). Or have I missed the point entirely
Incorrect manual entry is the most likely culprit
Are you saying when you get in the wagon the next day drive time still shows from the day before? If so as said above are you doing manual entries?
Tacho’s are funny. Mine showed "Security Breah " when i removed Card that Morning

Yes. The drive time still shows from the day before. I’ve never done a manual entry, wouldn’t know where to start. I just yes yes yes it til it’s ready to drive.

That sounds like a recipe for infringements if it’s a type 1 digital tachograph, this is why drivers should watch what’s going on when they insert the driver card.
How old is the vehicle/tachograph ?

60 plate. I very rarely do a reduced rest because of the problem stated but when I do I do a printout and record it in my diary.
That’s a type 1 digital tachograph then, if you click yes to everything you are going into the manual entry option.
From memory the first prompt when you put your card in is to do a manual entry, if you are pressing yes to this prompt it could be that you’re unknowingly entering a wrong manual entry.
If you keep pressing Yes on a type 1 Stoneridge tachograph your shift will continue from the previous shift, I’m not sure why you would only have problems when you have a reduced daily rest though.
Is it a Siemens or Stoneridge tachograph ?

I’m pressing yes to questions like have you been on rest. Country etc. As to the make I’m not sure. It must be faulty surely. I’ve reported it umpteen times but obviously nobody is interested.
There is nothing wrong with the taco or the driver I had 10 plate Scania with a Stoneridge and it never reset after 9 hours rest due to it being programmed only to accept 11 hour breaks, later models were then correctly programmed to accept 9 hour breaks.

I take it those “breaks” were actually “rest”…?

Are you talking about the dash display on a scania, if yes don’t take any notice of it just go on the tacho head display all the earlier ones did it if you don’t take an 11 hour rest, its a pain in the ■■■ but there is nothing you can do.

Cheers, yes it’s a Scania, 60 plate, and presumably a Stoneridge.
