In the last couple of days that I’ve taking my card out of the tacho head in my regular truck, it’s been displaying a message promping me to download in x amount of days, along with a card symbol. This is a Siemens VDO unit.
I already download my card last thing on a Friday at the end of each week, so it can’t be that, unless it’s not downloading properly.
Is it the actual Tacho that needs doing and not the card??

Well, I already mentioned that I download my card every Friday, but I’m trying to find out whether it’s the tacho head not being downloaded frequently enough.

Who does the vehicle downloads at your place? If you, then just do it. If not, then notify your office. If they still dont do anything then fill in a defect for it, so you can prove you told them.
If it’s your card will get a message saying card download in x days.
I know as.i had trouble.getting my card downloaded for about 3 weeks due to office staff being locked system and no one knew the passwords.
On 4th week every day was getting a message download card in 5 days 4 days etc.
And mine was a Siemens tacho on a daf.
So deffintanly not ypur card. I’d say it’s the tacho
Just inform the office of the message let them deal with it
Maybe write it on defect sheet as well. So there aware of it have it in writing
You also get a message when your digicard is nearing expiry.
